PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE RELATED TO THE PHYSICAL AND LIFE SCIENCES

Toured all U.S. Department of Energy
Laboratories and evaluated their radioactive waste programs and remedial
action activities.

One of two environmental technical experts
selected by the Navy and Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute to participate
in 3-week undersea mission using the deep submersible “ALVIN” to find the
sunken submarine, USS Thresher, and perform an environmental assessment of
the area.

One of two environmental technical experts
selected by the Navy and Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute to participate
in 6-week undersea mission to find the sunken submarine, USS Scorpion, and
perform an environmental assessment of the area (declined offer due to job
change and relocation).

As Health Physicist of Technical
Improvements, developed alternative radiation detection device for use in
deep undersea environments. Technology was later used to develop new
commercial detector systems.

Worked as a Boilermaker to repair and
rebuild one unit of a coal-fired power plant.

As General Manager for an Environmental
and Geophysics firm, was invited by United Nations UNSCOM Special Commission
in Iraq to serve as a technical expert in chemical and biological agent
detection and safety and to support geophysical surveys (declined 6-week
assignment due to NCWC teaching commitments).

As General Manager for an Environmental
and Geophysics firm, participated as geophysics team member in Jefferson
Proving Ground competition to detect unexploded ordnance.

Directed 40-million dollar site
characterization studies. Studies involved the geological,
hydrological, and biological sciences. Wetland delineations and
year-long ecological studies were also performed.

Managed environmental monitoring and
hazardous materials programs for a national laboratory.

Managed department within state agency
responsible for the regulation and monitoring of 14 nuclear power plants,
development of a radon monitoring and assessment program, and regulation of
high- and low-level radioactive wastes.

Served as Project Manager in the closure
of a radioactive waste disposal facility.

Developed Risk Management Plan, prepared
RCRA Hazardous Waste Permit Application, and completed environmental
assessment for the U.S. Air Force.

Founded Earnshaw Environmental, Inc., an
environmental consulting firm serving over 50 clients in the areas of
environmental assessment and compliance, project management, and safety
training.
